A special note to Photographer John D McHugh
On May 14th, 2007, Photojournalist John D. McHugh accompanied troops of the 10th Mountain 3-71 Cav on a rescue mission in the foothills of the Hindu Kush, Nuristan Province,Afghanistan. Traveling out of their outpost in Kamu they soon became engaged in a fierce fire fight during which photographer McHugh was shot by a snipers bullet while capturing photos of the action.
